should we talk about the weather*

It is snowing outside. Big white flakes that seem to tumble haphazardly in every direction before touching the ground. And as much as I am craving sun, there is something exciting about this kind of snow. This may be one of the last snows of the season, one of the last days to justify a slow inside-day. A pot of water steams on top of the woodstove, we work our way through a new stack of library books, the snow scatters and sticks on patches of newly greening grass. It is still spring. Sun and mud and t-shirts are not that far away. Every part of me can feel it, even with this white sky and fresh snow.

Mike took this picture after tucking the chickens in for the night. Amelia named one 'Princess Layer' which must be the best chicken name in the history of the world.

But for today, we're moving slowly, waiting for the sun
while the world outside quiets under white.

I think we're living parallel lives--chickens, mountains, seedlings, ricotta, --except my pictures look like a child took them with a Dora the Explorer camera.
Your pictures and life are beautiful.

Totally amazing scenes at your house~ the tiny teacups, the giant snowflakes on the fence, ricotta cheese!, beautiful big clouds and I love that cute green dress. It's all good and your children are adorable. Happy Days!
