New
Happy New Year from our living room
This year's winter
has been indecisive;
a bit of snow one day then
laundry hanging out
on the line in full sun
the next.
I keep waiting
for a real arrival.
An antelope herd races my car...
The last few weeks
we've slowed our pace,
shifted priorities.
I love a clean slate.
A rare winter rainbow outside of Fairmont Hot Springs
Resolutions...I haven't made one
in years. But there is something
about a new year;
the way it frames vague intentions
and sharpens
my focus.
New snow, ghost town cabin
And while I haven't declared
this the year of any one
particular undertaking,
my thoughts &
intentions swirl me toward
Time. With a capital T.
Time to catch my breath,
and forget about
what is supposed to come
next.
Time for my family, my friends,
for trying something new.
Time for myself.
Amaryllis; before & after
Time to enjoy now,
because things change
so
quickly.

I stop by from time to time and really enjoy your words and pictures. It's like a breath of fresh air. I came across you from 'Dig' I think. Happy New Year to you and your family.
Louise- thank you for taking to time to say 'hello!' Happy New Year!
Happy New Year Ellie and family! xo
it sounds like "time" could be your word for 2012...i'm contemplating what mine might be..."care" or "welcome" have been tossed about...
i am not a resolution creator, but i do love the clean slate, the pointing of the way to the beginnings again. so good to dream and plan!
happy new year!
